רועי וייזר

Roey was born in Jerusalem to his parents Naomi and Yami. He was the second of 3 children, brother to older sister Shani and younger brother Nadav. The family moved from Ramat Bet Shemesh to Efrat when Roey was 3.

Roey was creative, smart, sociable, and a loyal friend, and at the same time an athlete, confident, energetic, distracted, and never still.

​

Roey was optimistic, funny, joyful, entertaining, and noisy, and at the same time responsible, mature, empathetic, positive, caring, willful, and patient.

​

He knew how to simultaneously support and strengthen spirits during difficult times. Each week when he could Roey joined his friends for Hummus on Fridays, even though he didn’t like Hummus. Every picture of Roey has a smile from side to side. Zero seriousness, only joy, and laughter. That's how he was without posing, without trying to joke, but by just being Roey!

According to one of his friends, “Life’s challenges always seemed minute to Roey, as if no matter what came your way, you would make it through. It did not matter which teacher, which test, or which assignment. From Roey’s perspective, everything would somehow work out in the end. Roey always knew how to get out of everything, even at the last second; he would get out of trouble...”

Roey could connect with those who needed it the most- from the child who was picked on in elementary school to the soldier who was struggling.

Roey had his style. As one of his friends described it: “American but messy and rough, tank top and sweatpants, blue crocs that one can't forget, and a hat that he would never take off his head.”
